150th Anniversary of 4th Ward School

The 8th graders from Virginia City Middle School had an incredible opportunity to visit the Fourth Ward School Museum for a special day celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the historic Fourth Ward School — “New School Meets Old School!”

Students learned about the rich history of the Fourth Ward from the amazing museum staff and local historian Joe Curtis. Throughout the day, students explored the museum, played games from the 1800s, and even practiced calligraphy using real calligraphy pens and ink!

It was a fun, memorable, and hands-on learning experience that brought Nevada history to life. A great day was had by all!

Thank you to the Fourth Ward staff for providing such a meaningful experience for Storey County School District students.

VCMS Wrestling

Our first tournament ever!!!

We competed against nine schools with 26 wrestlers, and 14 brought home hardware.

Our 7th grade team led the way. Asher took 1st place. Lane and Logan earned 2nd. Alaric, Max, and Jack placed 3rd.

🤼‍♀️The girls team had a strong showing. Charlotte placed 1st. Maddie and Kayla took 3rd. Bella finished 4th, and Payton placed 5th.

Our 8th grade team competed tough. Chanse and Hunter earned 2nd. Eric placed 4th, Landon took 5th and Lilliana placed 3rd.

All 26 wrestlers competed hard, and we received many compliments from other coaches, with interest in future scrimmages. The competition was tough, and our wrestling family came out stronger.

Thank you to head coach Chadwick, coach Lauer, our Booster Club, Paul, the district, and all of our supportive administration, teachers, staff, and parents for making this possible.
